NACOGDOCHES COUNTY— Kyle Barnhill told news crews over the phone that he killed his wife, Melissa Barnhill.

Police arrested Barnhill, 40, last month because they believe he shot and killed his estranged wife in the neck while she was cooking dinner for her children at their house in Nacogdoches County.

Barnhill says he was not in the right state of mind at the time.

He is currently in the Nacogdoches County jail with bond set at $2 million.
