HOUSTON — A man who hid on a schoolhouse roof to elude police Tuesday is facing drug and possible kidnapping charges, officials said, after a woman said he had earlier held her hostage.

Houston police were driving along Chimney Rock near Gasmer about 2:30 p.m. when they saw a male driver holding a woman in a headlock, said HPD Lt. Larry Crowson.

He continued driving for about three blocks after the officers signalled for him to pull over. When he finally stopped, the woman got out and ran to the officers.
