Man arrested after barricading self, attempting to set fire at Van Zandt County oil company

Van Zandt County (KETK) — A man is in custody in Van Zandt County after barricading himself inside of business in Wills Point.
According to Van Zandt County Fire and Emergency Management, several departments responded to the call of a disruptive man at Mitchell Oil company.
When they arrived, the man barricaded himself in the bathroom. He then tore up the room and attempted to escape through the roof.
The man got into the attic and tried to set a fire.
He was finally taken into custody and is facing multiple charges, including Arson and Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant.
Mitchell Oil is located on the 300 block of E. South Commerce St. in Wills Point.
The man's identity has not been released at this time.
Van Zandt County Sheriffs Department, Texas Highway Patrol, Van Zandt Fire Marshal, EMS, and Wills Point Fire and Police responded to the call.
