Man arrested after higher-water rescue

LINDALE — A man is behind bars today, his charge, public intoxication.

Four hours before, his emergency rescue from rushing waters caused the most concern.

Steve Henson went around barricades near the Sabine River with his truck.

Around two Thursday, Henson got in his pickup, got around them and could not get through.

The water continued to rush over the truck until Lindale fire crews got there.

Paramedics assisted the man and he is expected to be okay.
