Man arrested following gun shots in Lufkin

Lufkin Police Department arrested Michael Anthony Sheddan following a report of gunshots outside a North First Street residence in Lufkin.

At approximately 12:20 PM on February 08, 2012, Lufkin Police and Fire Dispatch Center received a report of multiple gunshots in the 500 block of North First Street in Lufkin.

Responding officers learned that Michael Anthony Sheddan, angry over his live-in girlfriend arriving at the residence with another male, discharged a handgun multiple times. The officers believe that the other male was Sheddan’s intended target but the bullets did not hit that person.

Although officers did not locate any property damage caused by the bullets, multiple businesses, residences, and occupied vehicles were in the paths of the bullets. Sheddan was arrested for the third degree felony offenses of Deadly Conduct and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
