Man arrested for calling false alarm to police

Tyler, TX (KETK) — A Tyler man is arrested for calling a false alarm to police.
Around 7 p.m., Tyler Police Dispatchers received a 911 call saying that the caller had observed someone drive by a house and shoot a young child.
He told dispatchers that the child was bleeding and unconscious.
Tyler Police responded to the location in emergency mode using lights and sirens in an attempt to find the injured child.
It was thought that the address given to the dispatcher was given by the call was wrong and officers looked in the area and went to several houses trying to find the injured child.
The called than said that he was following the suspect in his vehicle going East on FM 2767. Officers headed to that location as well.
The caller stated that the vehicle had crashed, officers were not able to locate the vehicle.
It appeared that the caller was making a false report.
After further investigation, Tyler police located the caller, Adam Galaz, 31, at a house.
When he was found he was intoxicated. He confessed to the false report saying that he was trying to get his girlfriend in trouble..
He was arrested and taken to Smith County Jail.
Bail has not yet been set.
