Man arrested for stealing car at gunpoint in Longview

On September 10, 2011 at 3:20 a.m. officers were dispatched to a robbery on the 700 Block of South Green Street in Longview.

The victims told police that a black male with a tattoo on his face had just stolen their blue Plymouth Voyager van at gunpoint.

As one of the responding officers was driving to the scene he noticed a blue van fitting the description of the victim’s vehicle at the intersection of Young Street and Mobberly Avenue.

Officer Gibson stopped the van and located the suspect in the aggravated robbery.

During questioning the suspect gave police a false name.  After further questioning he was identified as Devon Clent Richardson, 21 of Longview.

Devon was arrested for Aggravated Robbery and Failure to Identify Fugitive, and an outstanding Aggravated Robbery warrant.

Devon remains in the Gregg County Jail.
