Man arrested on drug charges after running from officers

Nacogdoches County, TX (KETK) — A man was arrested following a Nacogdoches County drug investigation.
Authorities with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's office tell KETK, they seized 9 grams of methamphetamine from a house on Tuesday evening.
Sheriff Jason Bridges says that they had been investigating Marcus Dan Burdett, 54, for distribution and manufacturing of narcotics.
Around 6:00 pm on Tuesday, officers executed a search warrant at a house on the 14000 block of Hwy. 259.
When authorities arrived, they found Burdette in the backyard. He ran into a wooded area, but after a search authorities were able to capture and arrest Burdette.
After investigating the property, deputies found methamphetamine.
Burdette has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, which is a 2nd degree felony.
He was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
