***NEWS RELEASE***
On March 1, 2010 at about 12:15 a.m. the Tyler Police Department received a telephone call regarding a disturbance that occurred at the Club Skyy night club located at 3159 Point North. Officers arrived at the night club moments after the disturbance was reported, but were unable to locate anyone involved in the incident.
Once officers had left the scene the Tyler Police Department received a second telephone call from an individual at the University of Texas Health Center requesting to make an assault report.
Officers contacted the victim who stated he was assaulted at Club Skyy after asking an individual involved in a disturbance to leave the club. The victim stated that initially the suspect left the club, but returned moments later and struck him several time on the head with a pool cue before fleeing the area.
The victim, security for Club Skyy, identified the suspect as a black male, approximately 5’10”, 180 pounds, but was unsure about the suspect’s age. The victim’s injuries were non-life threatening in nature and required only minor treatment.
