On Friday, December 16, 2011, at approximately 5:38 PM, Harrison County dispatchers received a telephone call on the non-emergency line from a person stating that a body, possibly of a deceased person, had been found in the area of St. James Cemetery. This cemetery is located off of Macedonia Rd. in the Harleton area of Harrison County.

Deputies were dispatched to the location and met with the person who then directed deputies to the cemetery on CR 4120. Deputies located the body of a black male at that location with extensive lacerations to the torso. The person was deceased and subsequent investigation determined the body to be that of Kenneth Dale Dillard, Jr., 05/06/1989, of 1201 James Farmer St., Marshall, Texas. JP Westy Meisenheimer pronounced the death and the body was released to Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas.

A homicide investigation is continuing and deputies are assisted by Marshall PD and the Harrison County District Attorney’s Office
