Man gives ride, gets robbed in Smith County

TYLER - Smith County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a robbery call today. It happened Monday night on County Road 3116. Deputies say a man was giving someone a ride, when his passenger pulled a gun on him, stole his car and tried to rob him. The male suspect fired one shot from a small black handgun.

No injuries have been reported from this robbery. If you have any information, please call the Smith County Sheriff's Department.

The PC police can't say... I just get tired of crime stories with $500.00 pistols that weren't used in the crime (maybe if they were stolen.)

That Beretta isn't a small black handgun - nice try. Take a picture or a black Lorcin and use it. This is why I haven't picked up hitchhikers for over 20 years.

WOW THATS ALOT OF INFORMATION! hOW ABOUT A MAKE OF CAR A COLOR OR LICENSE PLATE NUMBER? OR MAYBE A DESCRIPTION OF THE ROBBER? NO ONE CAN HELP IF ALL WE KNOW IS THAT SOMEONE WAS ROBBED AND THERE WAS A BLACK GUN.
