UPDATE: An American Eagle jet pulled into the gate at the Baton Rouge airport to get on board to clean the plane. That's when the man rushed the jetway and locked himself in the cockpit.

He's in custody, but officials are not releasing his identity at this time. We'll provide an update as soon as one is available.

ORIGINAL REPORT: American Airlines has confirmed to NBC33 News that a police negotiation is currently underway at the Baton Rouge airport.

Officials tell us that the Baton Rouge Police Department and the FBI are currently dealing with the incident. Details are extremely limited at this time. However, we have a crew headed to the scene and will update as soon as more information is available.
