Marshall ISD names Ted Huffhines as Executive Director of Operations

Marshall, Tx — Marshall ISD Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith has announced that Marshall High School principal Ted Huffhines will move into the district’s new Executive Director of Operations position effective full-time at the end of the current school year.
Huffhines has served MISD as MHS principal for the last five years and has been with the district for 12, first as a teacher, coach and assistant principal before moving into his current administrative postion at the high school in 2008.
“I am pleased to move Ted into our new Executive Director of Operations position,” said Dr. Smith. “His experience and dedication to our district will add a great deal to our administrative team as we move forward.”
Dr. Smith announced a restructuring of the district administration back in January, which included the addition of the district’s Executive Director of Operations. As the Executive Director of Operations, Huffhines will oversee all district operations including maintenance and custodial, food service, transportation, campus safety and security, facilities and special projects.
“I am very excited to step into the position of Executive Director of Operations,” Huffhines said. “I look forward to helping improve this area of our school district to best meet the needs of our students and community. I appreciate Dr. Smith showing his confidence in me and the work I have done. I am deeply invested in MISD and want to help make it the best district it can be.”
A 1983 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Huffhines earned a Superintendent Certification from Texas A&M-Commerce in 2011. He joined MISD in 2001 as a teacher and assistant football coach, after having served in various roles as a teacher, coach or athletic director at Groesbeck, Grand Prairie, Killeen, Langham Creek, Atlanta and Sugar Land school districts.
Huffhines is a member of Central Baptist Church in Marshall, where he serves as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. He also is active in various clubs and organizations such as Rotary Club of Marshall, Boys and Girls Club of Big Pines, Good Shepherd Medical Center-Marshall, texas Association of Secondary School Administrators and Harrison County Texas Exes.
