Masked robber attacks Sonic employee, steals car Sunday night

Tyler, Texas (KETK) — A Sonic employee was attacked, then had his car stolen by a masked man Sunday night in Tyler.
Police tell KETK, it happened at 10:53 p.m. at the Sonic located at 102 Loop 323.
Employees reported that a unarmed white male wearing a mask entered the business demanding to know who the owner of a vehicle in the parking lot was.
The vehicle belonged to an employee and the suspect confronted the employee demanding the keys for the vehicle.
When the employee hesitated to give up his keys, the suspect struck him in the face.
The suspect was able to retrieve the keys to the vehicle and left westbound on Hwy 64 W. in the victim’s vehicle.
The victim only sustained a minor injury due to being struck in the face.
The suspect was captured while in possession of the stolen vehicle.
At Approximately 12:44 a.m., officers observed the stolen Volkswagen Jetta pulling into the Food Fast located at 5120 Old Jacksonville Hwy in Tyler.
The suspect who was identified as Paul Brant Fowler, 38, of Tyler was taken into custody without incident.
Paul Brant Fowler was booked into the Smith County Jail for Robbery of Individual.
