Pine Tree — Local country music star Neal McCoy opened the Longview-Pine Tree baseball game Tuesday at the Pirates’ Field of Dreams Park by singing the national anthem.

McCoy also tested his arm by throwing out the first pitch.

The Lobos beat the Pirates, 9-3.

McCoy, who was born in Jacksonville but calls Longview home, has tour dates scheduled most of this year.
