"I requested black Friday off, in January," said Tracey Phillips.

Phillips has been preparing for Black Friday since last Thanksgiving.

When it comes to saving money, she is a professional.

"I'll be spending 3,000 dollars and after all the coupons and savings I'll be saving about 2500," Phillips said.

And how? Instead of heading for the usual door busters, you can get extra cash bonuses by signing up for reward programs online or downloading shopping saving apps to your phone.

"Through those programs I've gotten over 1700 dollars," Phillips said.

"When you combine the gift cards I've gotten with the coupons and the sales, a lot of items I'll be getting for free," Phillips said. "Others I'll be paying pennies on the dollar for."

And for Phillips it is about more than just saving money on Christmas gifts, they use Black Friday to help pay for a lot of their day-to-day necessities and home improvement.

"We'll be able to get a year supply of diapers for about 60 or 70 dollars," Phillips said.

And her top five savings destinations?

"Walmart, Kohl's, Toys R' Us, Bath and Body Works, and Bed, Bath and Beyond," Phillips said.

Of course, after she spends the holiday with her family.

"We're going to have a Thanksgiving lunch," Phillips laughed.
