New Summerfield, Tx (KETK) — East Texas is cattle country.
But for one New Summerfield family they have made raising pigs a lucrative business
David and Sandy Pate raise pigs on P&P Hog Farm, and with the help of their 750 pound boar hog Pigzilla, they are able to keep a constant supply of swine.
But rising costs in feed and equipment have forced them to raise some of their prices.
However that is supplemented by the fact that they process their own meat, right next door.
David Pate tells KETK, as the years go by, it becomes harder and harder to find farm pigs in East Texas.
See the rest of their and Pigzilla's story in the video above.

It's good to see somebody who has stayed in business by thinking their way around government. Not forced out of business by ethanol subsidies which raise the price of corn feed, this pork producer eliminates the processor to increase his margin. Of course you and I both know that as soon as some affirmative hire bureaucrat reads this success story, a swarm of inspectors will decend on his processing plant like locust and by the time he pays his fines, he'll be lucky to keep his home.
