I have backed the idea of voting Smith County wet since I moved there in 2001 and found out it was dry by the age of 16. The revenue and economic boost is what the slumping dry economy needs to get a boost. I live in a wet county and we don't experience near the problems they do with drunks driving right throught Smith County to "the line" to buy liquor. Keep the choice and money local.

I consider it to be unconstitutional that some individuals can decide wether I can buy alcohol locally. We have all the religious objections, but Jesus served wine at the wedding in Cana, of Galilee. We have the argument, "Take one drink and you could become an alcoholic." Well, is it true that if you eat one sandwich you could become a glutton? Prejudice runs amok in East Texas; let each individual choose what he partakes of. Keep our tax money local and reduce gasoline consumption. THAT WOULD WORK!

IT WILL BOOST THE ECONOMY FINANCIALLY BUT COST TAXPAYERS IN THE LONG RUN BECAUSE OF THE DRUNKS THAT GET INTO WRECKS AND HAVE TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY,ALTHOUGH THAT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE AS IT IS.........
