TYLER — Albama Governor Robert Bentley signed into law today what is being called the toughest immigration law in the United States.
The law gives police the power to arrest anyone stopped for another reason if they are suspected to be an illegal immigrant. It also requires public schools to determine the immigration status of students, and makes it a crime to give an illegal immigrant a ride if you know the person is illegal.
Civil rights groups are planning to challenge the piece of legislation in court.
What do you think about the law? Is it too much, or do we need something similar in Texas?
