Mike's Mail Bag: Illegal immigration

Albama Governor Robert Bentley signed into law today what is being called the toughest immigration law in the United States.

The law gives police the power to arrest anyone stopped for another reason if they are suspected to be an illegal immigrant. It also requires public schools to determine the immigration status of students, and makes it a crime to give an illegal immigrant a ride if you know the person is illegal.

Civil rights groups are planning to challenge the piece of legislation in court.

What do you think about the law? Is it too much, or do we need something similar in Texas?

No problem with passing an illegal immigration law. Maybe, it will trickle down to Texas.
As fas as the Civil Rights Groups, they might be more helpful in places like the Middle East
or many parts of Africa. Join the SPCA protecting abuse to animals. Far too many abuse cases,
especially in East Texas. If anyone suspects a Puppy Mill in your area, please post. I am on a
mission.

It is a wonderful law and tomorrow would not be soon enough for Texas. We first have to get the logjam out of our legislature in the person/s of Speaker Strauss who has blocked this type of legislation for years and of course his cronies who are beholden to the builders and growers associations in Texas.
We need a MANDATORY E-VERIFY law in Texas and nationwide to take away the job magnet!!!!

The Feds aren't going to do anything, it seems to be in their best interests not to. The States are going to have to taek action on their own.

This law would be perfect for Texas. It's about time we took our country back. Ask legal immigrants, they are the most vocal about illegal immigrants because they took the time to do it the right way. And they are more than happy to show their papers or prove that they are here legally. If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to worry about.
