TYLER — PETA is petitioning for a change to the Bible. They hope translators will consider making animals gender-specific.
In other words, a whale would be a 'he' or 'she', instead of an 'it'.
Should we change the Bible to take into account that animals aren't inanimate objects?

Seriously? With all the horrible things going on in the world, PETA thinks this is something worthy of a fight? And I agree with Charles. Why give them ink?
First, the Bible does not treat animals as inanimate objects. They very much play important symbolic roles. At times, the Bible is gender specific when speeking of an animal.
Second, this attempt is a direct attack on a very important part of our lives. And without knowing what groups like PETA and others are up to, they can and would take that life away.
Both of you are correct. What's more - the Bible instructs us not to add or delete.
Peta has lost all credibility with me with me lately. I love animals and would never stand for their abuse but this organization is hurting the cause more than helping with their craziness. Get a grip peta and fight against abuse and stop trying to make animals out to be on the same level as is a human life.
I'm more concerned why any media outlet would even voice the desires of this lunatic fringe.
