Three months ago, Don Tulman and his wife began turning empty ammo casings into flags, both patriotic and for school spirit.

It's an idea Tulman had while out at the shooting range, which, in words, just popped into his head.

He and his wife began painting and piecing the casings into representations of flags.

They have now partnered with a Maryland based company, NBM Brass, which specializes in providing ammo casings which were shot by members of the military, the company also employs veterans.

It is just something else to add to Tulman's newfound passion.

"Actually it's very relaxing, it takes anywhere between three and five days to do one flag," said Tulman.
