Mobile meth lab, drugs and firearms seized at Tyler hotel

Tyler, Tx ( KETK) — Tyler Police, ATF agents and DEA agents were able to make a drug seizureTuesday evening in Tyler.
Police officers were dispatched to the Sleep Inn at 5555 Donnybrook Avenue after reports were made of suspicious items in a hotel room.
Hotel cleaning staff had entered the hotel room and discovered firearms, suppressors, and assorted pills. The ATF and DEA were called and responded to the scene to aid in the investigation.
Police were able to determine that the room belonged to Robert William Zandstra, 27, who gave officers consent to search his room and vehicle.
The search of the hotel room revealed two AR-15 rifles, a Walther P22 handgun, a revolver, assorted pills, suppressors and assorted material to manufacture suppressors.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a mobile methamphetamine laboratory, methamphetamines and an unknown assortment pills.
Police arrested Zandstra on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, one gram or more but less than four grams, in a school zone (2nd Degree Felony).
All weapons, suppressors and other assorted materials to manufacture suppressors was seized by ATF who is continuing to investigate potential federal law violations.
