Randy Hanson, General contractor for a new Tyler development property says, "Anything that specializes in children and they are a specialist in pediatrics is what we are going for here."

Part of the 44 long acre off of West Grande Boulevard, between Old Jacksonville Highway and 155 in Tyler will soon be transformed into the next major medical corridor, specifically for children.

Hanson says, “This is a major medical center but there is no pediatric specialty whatsoever, so there's a huge need for it."

Tyler is known for its large medical sector, but right now most pediatric patients are sent to Dallas for treatment.

Hanson says this new development is needed, "We can take care of our own kids right here we just bring the specialist to Tyler instead of making all these kids and their parents drive over to Dallas."

The Butler Creek property development and pediatric medical facilities are set to break ground early next year Hanson says, "We're going to start putting some of the infrastructure in probably by the end of January."

East Texans say this will also create more jobs in the city. Janice Connor of Tyler says, "It would bring in more employment for starters and more people spending money in the town."

People see the new children’s medical care as something that will benefit Tyler, and it’s already large Medical community. Connor days, “People that can't afford to go to Dallas or Houston could get good treatment here. They already get good treatment here for the other doctors and everything, why not for the children also?"
