Netflix will give you the first season of "Arrested Development," but the company's less confident about what may come next.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the streaming media service isn't anticipating hosting additional seasons of the revived comedy beyond the first season its releasing in May.

"It's really a fantastic one-off which is coming together incredibly, and I think it will be amazing for us, but think of it as a non-repeatable amazing," Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said in a conference call Monday.

The company has a "smaller stake" in "Arrested" than it does in its original programming, like "House of Cards," Hastings noted, pointing out that Netflix is "trying to figure out a real mechanism where we can build shows and develop franchises over the long term." To that end, "'Arrested Development' is a wildly successful tactic, as opposed to fundamental to the strategy."

However, on their Twitter account, the company reassured fans that there's still hope for more: "Let's be honest, ANYTHING can happen with #ArrestedDevelopment."

We do know that 14 episodes of "Arrested Development" will debut at once this spring. The guest stars will include Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Conan O'Brien, Isla Fisher and the just announced Ben Stiller, who'll return to his role as Tony Wonder.
