If you're single and looking to mingle, the answer to finding true love might be on your smartphone.
14 million people out there are using dating apps to try to find that special someone.
It's estimated that mobile dating apps will be a $1.4 billion industry in just two years. It's how people are finding love. "They're not just using them for phone calls. They're making dates, reservations, buying shoes, buying books... so it's just as logical if you're spending more time away from your home, that you're doing more form your mobile phone. And dating fits into that as well," says Author and Online Dating Expert, Julie Spira.
Many traditional online dating sites are now launching their own apps says Spira. "We call it location-based service dating, so if you're at a Starbucks and there's somebody down the street at a sandwich shop and you're on the same mobile app, maybe you can meet for dessert."
Spira said 14 million people use mobile dating apps. Her website, www.cyberdatingexpert.com, lists the best 10 as: 10. FourSquare, 9. Flirtomatic, 8. Grindr, 7. Are You Interested, 6. Eharmony, 5. Skout, 4. Zoosk, 3. Speed Date, 2. Match Mobile, And 1. Meet Moi.
Meet Moi is one of those apps that alerts you when a match is nearby. It also became the first matchmaking service to integrate with Facebook.
It's growing fast... A fun and easy way to flirt through your phone. "I say go ahead. The whole world is going mobile, mobile, mobile. But be smart. Use your intuition and don't rush into meeting people you don't know really quickly," advises Spira.
