More than 40 homeless after apartment fire
DALLAS (AP) - More than 40 people were left without a place to
live after a fire swept through a Dallas apartment building. No
injuries were reported.
The Dallas Morning News reports that 17 units were badly damaged
or destroyed in the fire that was reported on Monday, just before
Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans says, "With it being
so cold outside, we have lots of residents who need help. The Red
Cross is on the scene making accommodations for residents who are
going to be displaced."
Fire investigators say the fire was caused by an electrical
short in a bathroom closet in a second-floor apartment.
