More Troops go to Juarez
March 14, 2009 - 5:35pm
JUAREZ - Five thousand more soldiers began arriving in Juarez, Mexico, yesterday to reinforce security in the violent city on the border.
This second deployment of soldiers will bring the total to 8,500 troops in the city.
The Mexican government sent the first group of troops earlier this month after escalating violence between warring drug cartels brought the daily death toll average to ten homicides per day.
