Mosquito control on East Texas cities’ to-do list

After the deadliest-ever year for West Nile virus and another mild, damp winter, East Texas cities already are gearing up to battle mosquitoes.

“The recipe is there for a bad year, and we’re not going to sit there and wait until it shows,” said J.C. Hughes, public works and water utilities director for Marshall. “We don’t want to wait this year. We wanted to start early.”
