Mother, 10 kids homeless after fire

NACOGDOCHES — A mobile home in south Nacogdoches was destroyed by fire Tuesday, leaving 34-year-old Cassandra Washington and her 10 children with little more than a $100 Walmart gift card provided by the Nacogdoches Fire Department.
"I had already seen the smoke," said Washington, who was home with three children when the fire ignited. "I turned and walked through the hallway, and when I got there, I saw the mattress on fire."
