A mother may be facing injury to a child charges after intervening in a fight between her teenage daughter and another girl.

The two 14 year olds started fighting just before 9:30 pm on Wednesday in the 1100 block of Orton St. in Nacogdoches.

According to the Nacogdoches Police Department, the mother of one of the girls became involved in the fight, and assaulted the other teenager.

There were no serious injuries reported, but the family of the girl she attacked may press charges against the woman.

Injury to a child is a third degree felony.

There have been no arrests made at this time. The case is still under investigation.
