A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service beginning at midnight Monday night through Tuesday. The advisory area includes the City of Nacogdoches and Nacogdoches County.

The possibility exists for freezing rain and sleet. Ice may accumulate on above ground surfaces, such as bridges, overpasses, trees and power lines.

It is recommended that residents have a supply of bottle water and non-perishable food items on hand in case of a power outage. Check flashlight batteries. If you use a generator, remember to operate it outside and never plug a generator directly into a home without the proper electrical equipment in place.
