Nacogdoches court gives dad 35 years in scalding baby case

Nacogdoches, Texas — Cries of disbelief rang out in the Nacogdoches County Courthouse Monday afternoon from the friends and family of Anthony Watts, who was sentenced in Nacogdoches County 420th District Judge Ed Klein’s courtroom to 35 years in prison.
That’s 35 years for the scalding injury he caused to his then 2-year-old son, ZaTaurean Pleasant, when Watts poured boiling water over the boy’s face, chest, arms and back.
