Nacogdoches, Texas — A man is accused of attacking several people with a large machete in the 1700 block of CR 521 Monday evening.
Nijinksi Tywon Murphy, 35, of Nacogdoches, allegedly broke into three homes and assaulted the residents there, said Nacogdoches County Sheriff Thomas Kerss.
Murphy struck five people with the machete during his attacks, and they were all transported to a local hospital, according to Kerss.
“Most of the injured parties were treated and released that same night,” Kerss said. “They had typical defensive wounds — a lot of cuts to the arms. One lady suffered a broken arm.”
During one of the attacks, a 15-year-old boy stabbed Murphy in the torso with a kitchen knife to protect his mother.
