Nacogdoches Senior Center to receive DETCOG grant for more than $30K

Nacogdoches, TX — The Nacogdoches Senior Center will soon benefit from a Deep East Texas Council of Governments grant aimed at helping aging Texans stay healthy.
The center is slated to receive a little over $30,000 that will go toward building an ADA walking path and raised garden along with purchasing group and cardio exercise equipment and new flooring, it was announced at the June meeting of DETCOG in Nacogdoches.
“DETCOG is really starting to want the centers to focus on physical fitness and education,” Nacogdoches Senior Center Director Tammy Blank said
