Nashville Songwriters Association International, (NSAI), announces the formation of a new regional workshop in Tyler, Texas, to serve the greater East Texas area.

The NSAI East Texas Chapter will meet the last Tuesday of each month, from 7:00 to 9:00pm beginning Tuesday, June 25th, at Brady’s Coffee, located at 309 W. Rusk Street, near downtown Tyler.

The monthly workshop will feature an educational segment, followed by a song feedback segment, where songwriters can present a song to the group for feedback in an informal “song swap” environment. Using the organization’s slogan, “It All Begins with a Song”, the goal of the monthly workshop is to provide education and information to all levels of songwriters, to better hone their songwriting craft, in addition to providing fellowship and collaborative partnership opportunities with other songwriters.

The monthly workshop will be facilitated by NSAI Regional Workshop Coordinator Connie Mims Pinkerton, who currently co-facilitates the NSAI Houston Chapter. In addition to facilitating for NSAI, she has conducted songwriting and music industry career workshops for the Kerrville Folk Festival, The Recording Academy (GRAMMYS), as well as many private and group songwriting classes and retreats. Since relocating recently to Tyler, she decided to respond to the need of a sense of community for area songwriters to come together, learn and share their craft, and forge creative partnerships.

There is no charge to attend the monthly workshop and it is open to all ages and genres of music. For more information, visit NSAI East Texas on Facebook, or send an email to For more information on NSAI, visit
