New app connects Tatum school district, parents
Tatum — A new smartphone app is helping connect the entire Tatum community.
Drenon Fite, director of human resources and community relations for Tatum ISD, said school administrators launched the School Connect mobile application this past week.
Created by Jostens, Fite said the application is free to download for iPhone and Android users.
“The original plan was to create our own application, and it wasn’t very user friendly,” he said. “But at the beginning of the year, we found some that were very user friendly.”
Tatum ISD Superintendent Dee Hartt said the district has always been open to using social media for academic purposes.
