New parking option for UT Tyler students
Tyler, TX — Students at UT Tyler may see some improvements when it comes to finding a place to park.
The last few weeks, students have been leaving home earlier just to find parking. They are even circling campus to try and find a place to leave their car.
Since school has started, Officers have been directing traffic and have relaxed on park restrictions just to get students on their way.
UT Tyler students have been hoping for relief with this parking issue.
There is a parking lot being built right now, so that has been causing parking problems.
Now... a shuttle service will help with that problem. UT Tyler Vice President for Business Affairs issued a statement to KETK.
"UT Tyler has taken several actions to ease the parking issues. A new shuttle will run 8:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.. to transport students to and from Rose Heights Church on Old Omen Road and Parking Lot 8, which is in front of the UT Tyler Ratliff Engineering Building North. The shuttle will run every 20 minutes."
UT Tyler students told KETK that parking is bad and there isn't enough parking.
Since there are temporary lots available on campus and shuttle service, The City of Tyler reinstated park restrictions today.
The shuttle service will be a two-week trial to determine the demand of the shuttle.
