Rusk County — The long wait for water is almost over for residents in rural Rusk County.

About 65 people living in the northeastern part of the county — who long have relied on a system of shallow water wells — will be connected to a municipal water system later this year.

The first will be hooked up in early summer, while the last should be connected before the end of the year.
