Rayburn replacing retired Ranger Maskunas

Lufkin — The Lufkin Daily News is reporting; April showers not only brought May flowers but a new Texas Ranger to the Lufkin area.

DPS spokesman: Greg Sanches told The Daily News: Ranger Steve Rayburn is taking over for retired Ranger Pete Maskunas.

Rayburn is from the Lufkin area, who made highway patrolman, then tested for the Rangers and made the grade.

Ranger Rayburn will help-out other East Texas law enforcement agencies in their investigations of major crimes.
