CNN — Mitt Romney's campaign released a new ad Sunday targeting Wisconsin voters as a part of a series of state-specific ads the campaign has released in battleground states.

Less than an hour after President Barack Obama addressed the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte on Thursday, Romney's team announced 15 new television advertisements as a part of the campaign's "A Better Future" series. The new ad focusing on Wisconsin brings the series total to 16 spots in nine states.

The ad begins with a clip of Romney's nomination acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, reiterating a frequently posed question at the GOP convention asking voters if they are "better off" now than they were before Obama took office.

"This president can ask us to be patient. This president can tell us it was someone else's fault. But this president cannot tell us that you're better off today than when he took office," said Romney to supporters at the Republican convention.

A narrator then says, "Here in Wisconsin, we're not better off under Obama. There's a prairie fire of debt that grows over $3 billion dollars per day," and proceeds to lay out Romney's plan to cut the deficit, including "create over a 240,000 new jobs for Wisconsin."

CNN turned the important battleground state of Wisconsin from "lean Obama" to true "toss up" on its electoral map in August. The battleground state and home to Romney's running mate Paul Ryan has ten electoral votes and will be a focus of both campaigns in the weeks leading up to November.
