Clint Conque is the new coach in the oldest town in Texas.

He's come to Nacogdoches to turn around the SFA Lumberjacks.

"The players have really bought into our message as we attempt to change the culture every day and put a better product on the field than we've had the past couple of years," Conque told KETK.  "The focus is on ourselves, our personal improvement and development every day."

Conque was a head coach at Central Arkansas and an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech and McNeese State.

"I understand the expectations of this league, the quality of coaching in this conference and the talent at every institution," Conque said.  "We're not focussed on that, we're focussed on ourselves."

"I've been pleased with the way the young men have bought into the changes we've made here," Conque added.  "I think it will pay dividends not only for this season but certainly in the future."

Conque's challenge; to turn around a program that won just three games last season.

SFA will start the new season at Kansas State August 30.
