North Texas City Prohibits Flying American Flag
October 22, 2009 - 10:37am
NORTH TEXAS—It is illegal to fly the American flag in one Texas city.
Residents flying the American flag in the north Texas city of Colony received letters from city officials notifying them to take down the flags in their yards.
The city bans signs on trees and fences and city officials say that includes the American flag. Now, neighbors are fighting the ordinance in the next council meeting. The mayor of Colony says he will reconsider the law if enough people want to change it.

He's following the law. Laws can change. relax, folks. Funny how being a law-abiding citizen becomes unimportant when it involves something emotional to YOU.

6 months agoIn another interview the mayor of Colony said, that he would die for the flag. I highly doubt that since he hasn't done a thing to have the ban lifted.

5 months agoIt is a disgrace to have any type of rule, regulation, or law that bans the flying of our American flag in any part of this "Great" country. It is obvious that some of the people we elect to public office forget who we are, Americans, and where we have come from and the importance of "our" flag we choose to proudly display.
