Number of Swine Flu Cases on the Rise in Texas
May 3, 2009 - 7:41pm
TEXAS - The Texas Department of State Health Services says there are now 43 confirmed cases of swine flu in the state.
The Health Department says this latest number, an increase of 15 over the weekend, includes five people from Mexico.
A spokeswoman for the Cleburne School District said Saturday that swine flu was confirmed in four high school students there.
The swine flu outbreak has led to the closure of hundreds of Texas schools affecting about 350,000 students.

This thing is being over-exaggerated. The regular flu we see every winter kills more people each year than this flu has yet. Also if you really listen to the newscast, it's mainly the elder and the really young that are being killed by this virus which are the main ones the original strains of flu usaully takes. There's no reason to be scared to death as many news channels make it seem. To many, this version of the flu seems less virulent than the annual strains.
