YOKOHAMA, Japan (AP) - President Barack Obama says that while
Asia's rapid growth will lead to competition for jobs, countries
shouldn't have to prosper at the expense of other nations.
Speaking to executives at a business summit in Japan, Obama says
no country should have a monopoly on trade and economic growth. He
says if nations work together, they will share the benefits of
their economic ties.
Obama says the U.S. is prepared to lead in Asia. He says the
U.S. has a stake in Asia's future because America's success is tied
to the region's rise.
Obama is in Japan for meetings at the forum of the Asia-Pacific
Economic Cooperation.
