October is the best time for seasonal hiring

The holidays can be stressful for especially if you're looking for a job, but it's not too late.

There's good news, seasonal hiring is up.

Employers across East Texas say, October is the best time to apply.

Careerbuilder's annual survey of retail hiring managers finds 39% plan to hire seasonal workers this year.

KETK stopped a few stores and restaurants in East Texas, and they're looking to hire.

Retailers across the nation are expected to hire more than 700,000 seasonal employees.

"I think it's great, I mean there are a lot of jobs out here, every year around this time, and people are saying they need income they need income, this would be a great time you know. I'm personally retired but if I weren't I would look for a job out here," says Bill Fallon.

"With unemployment with the way it's been... You know for so long... And under employment, I really think that with seasonal jobs this is the chance for people to get out a hopefully make up for what they've missed with the bad economy," Anonymous.

Some experts say, even though applying online is encouraged, it doesn't hurt to stop in to meet your future employer.
