Officer and bystander recovering after Dallas shooting

DALLAS (AP) - A police officer and bystander are recovering from wounds suffered when a man opened fire at a Dallas apartment complex.
Police say the gunman was found dead a short time later nearby, dead by his own hand.
A police spokesman says Officer Richard Whitt is recovering after surgery, and a Baylor University Medical Center spokeswoman says 36-year-old Keenon Furnace was in good condition late Monday.
Police Lt. C.L. Williams says 31-year-old Kenneth Michael Horton, who allegedly opened fire at an apartment complex where his ex-girlfriend was staying, was later found dead nearby of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
