Official: No fraud at Longview VA clinic
Longview, TX — Revelations of fraud in the scheduling documents of Veterans Administration hospitals do not appear forthcoming from the regional facility that operates a VA clinic in Longview, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.
“We had an audit at the main facility,” said Sandy Franks, spokeswoman for the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport. “And when the team left, they didn’t really give a written report. ... No, they said there were no significant findings — that’s the term they used. And, if they had anything they certainly would have brought another team in or said, ‘There’s something (and) we need to look at this more closely.’ ”
The 64-year-old VA hospital in Shreveport, with affiliated clinics in Longview, Texarkana and Monroe, Louisiana, sees about 36,000 out-patients per month.
