The Lindale Volunteer Fire Department is planning on bringing one of their oldest firefighters out of retirement, o a certain extent.

Work is currently being done to refurbish the very first Lindale fire truck, which was built back in 1945, and the project is nearly complete.

This two year project has been a joint effort between the Lindale Volunteer Fire Department, Great American Classics body shop, the Lindale Fire-Teck team and others.

They are hoping to have the truck finished by the holidays, so they show off the piece of Lindale history, at the city's Christmas parade.

Donations are still being received at the VFD main station on 208 E. Hubbard in Lindale, and they can be called at 903-882-3443.
