JACKSONVILLE, TEXAS (KETK) — The biggest convenience store is opening in Cherokee County, residents say it's something they've needed for awhile, now.
As you're driving through Jacksonville in the business district on South U.S. 69, you'll see Jake's Market and Grill.
Owner Steve Thompson says it's a place to eat, get gas and relax. "We are going to have fresh fruit, we are going to have yogurt, all the drinks, beer and wine, we'll have loaded bake potatoes and hamburgers, you tell us what you want we'll cook it up."
Clint Norwood of Jacksonville says it's looking forward for the market and grill to open. "I like to see that Jacksonville is growing, just coming together maybe opening jobs for people that are looking around looking for jobs and needing one."
Thompson says, they're hiring and looking for cooks, cashiers and stockers. "Living in Jacksonville we hadn't see anything like this and I think it's going to bring a lot more business it's going to touch a little bit of everybody and from truck drivers and it's something you don't see everyday," said Josh Hudwall.
Thompson's vision is to bring something new to Jacksonville, he says the city is growing every day. People can't wait until Jake's Market and Grill opens. "Going to have to check it out and eat something there," said Norwood.
