One-vehicle wreck kills one, alcohol could be a factor

Alcohol might have been a factor in a one vehicle wreck on Saturday evening.

Around 8:16 p.m., Longview police responded to a one vehicle wreck in the 2700 block of East Marshall Avenue.

According to police, the car had driven into oncoming traffic near Kay Drive and rolled several times.

When officers arrived on the scene they found Roberto Ramirez-Garcia lying in the roadway. Garcia was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Jesus Perez, 34, was still trapped inside the vehicle.

Officials had to cut Perez out of the vehicle.

Both Garcia and Perez were taken to a local hospital where Garcia later died.

The car accident is still under investigation and alcohol is believed to have been involved.

 The crash remains under investigation and alcohol is believed to have been a factor.

Authorities said there were no open containers found but the driver smelled of alcoholic beverages.
